Clinical Technician – Progressive Care Unit

About the role

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a 24‑bed unit that provides care for patients with higher acuity than a medical‑surgical floor but who do not require full ICU support. As a Clinical Technician you will assist with basic patient care, maintain a clean environment, and support the nursing team during night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Take vital signs, weight, and perform point‑of‑care testing.
• Assist patients with personal care, dressing changes, and patient transfers/transport.
• Apply external monitoring devices, perform phlebotomy, 12‑lead ECGs, and remove urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal findings to the supervising RN and keep patient rooms orderly.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within new‑hire period).
• One year of recent full‑time patient care experience, or nursing student with clinical rotation, or relevant military medical experience.
• Ability to read at an 8th‑grade level and perform basic math.
