Clinical Technician – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

About the role

The Clinical Technician supports the ICU team by providing basic patient care, maintaining a clean environment, and assisting with technical procedures. This position offers hands‑on experience in a high‑acuity setting and opportunities for career growth within the Cleveland Clinic system.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care, vital signs, weight measurement, and point‑of‑care testing.
• Perform dressing changes, patient transfers, and apply external monitoring devices.
• Conduct phlebotomy, 12‑lead ECGs, and remove urinary Foley catheters under RN supervision.
• Report abnormal findings to the RN and help keep patient rooms clean and orderly.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of recent full‑time patient‑care experience or equivalent clinical rotation, military medical experience, or related training.
• Ability to lift patients, stand for long periods, and demonstrate 8th‑grade level math and reading comprehension.
