Clinical Research Coordinator – Ophthalmology

About the role

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute seeks a full‑time Clinical Research Coordinator 2 to support ophthalmology studies in Palm Beach Gardens. The role involves managing day‑to‑day protocol implementation from initiation through close‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with participant recruitment, screening, informed consent and scheduling of study visits.
• Perform study procedures, collect and process specimens, and enter data into electronic capture systems.
• Maintain regulatory files, study binders, and documentation of adverse events and protocol deviations.
• Coordinate study drug dispensing with the research pharmacy and manage specimen shipping to central labs.
• Prepare and submit IRB continuing reviews, protocol amendments, and sponsor progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years of clinical research experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple trials and work collaboratively with investigators and study teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
• Experience using electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
• Knowledge of specimen handling, processing, and shipping regulations.
