Clinical Hospice Sales Representative

About the role

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, offers home health, hospice and community-based services. As Clinical Hospice Liaison, you will establish and develop new business contacts, maintain current relationships and develop and implement a sales and marketing plan. The position is based in Hermitage, Tennessee.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve admissions and payor-mix goals and meet short- and long-term target account goals.
• Maintain a complete, up-to-date record of referrals, including physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing and senior living facilities' management, discharge planners and case managers, in the assigned territory.
• Meet administrative standards: document daily sales calls in the CRM with pre- and post-call notes, and keep a record of targeted referral sources.
• Assist the care center with the referral-to-admission process as needed.
• Master the sales model and use the sales process daily; prepare business plans and maintain target lists, prioritizing accounts according to the market sales plan.
• Develop and maintain client relationships in a competitive marketplace and respond to customer complaints in a timely manner.
• Travel 50% or more within the assigned territory.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of successful experience in healthcare, business development or a related industry, or successful previous experience in business development, outreach or a healthcare-related role.
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of service, or MSW, LCSW, PT, OT, SLP or PA.
• Preferred: experience in hospice or healthcare business development.
