Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing

About the role

The College of Nursing at Prairie View A&M University seeks a full‑time Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to join its Undergraduate Nursing Program in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will deliver both didactic and clinical instruction, mentor students, and contribute to curriculum development across multiple nursing specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver classroom and clinical learning activities using innovative teaching methodologies.
• Coordinate theory and clinical instruction, plan, implement, and evaluate assigned courses.
• Assist in curriculum development, monitoring, and accreditation compliance (AACN, ACEN, NLN, NONPF).
• Serve as academic advisor and scholarship mentor for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students.
• Participate actively in College of Nursing faculty organization, university committees, and task forces.
• Maintain an annual faculty performance portfolio documenting teaching effectiveness, scholarship, and service.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing (or related field) – required.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in an adult health, community/population health, nursing administration, or education specialty.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship.
• Experience with curriculum development and accreditation standards.
