Clinic Athletic Trainer 1 – Full‑time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Orthopedics seeks a full‑time Clinic Athletic Trainer 1 to provide patient‑centered musculoskeletal care in the UHealth SoLe Mia Medical Center. The role involves direct patient contact under physician supervision, evaluating and treating a range of injuries and conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health histories and physical examinations for acute and chronic injuries.
• Present cases and imaging results to attending physicians.
• Execute standing orders, including imaging, labs, medication referrals, and orthotic fittings.
• Provide patient education on rehabilitation exercises and use of orthopedic appliances.
• Perform wound care, casting, suture removal, and post‑operative dressing changes.
• Assist physicians with injection preparation, surgical booking, and documentation.
• Communicate with patients, staff, and providers, and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Support clinic operations, billing, insurance authorizations, and schedule management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Athletic Trainer License and BLS certification.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Commitment to university core values and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
