Cleared Network Engineer (Tier 3) - Azure Networking

About the role

All Cares, through its Virtual Service Operations unit, is hiring a cleared Network Engineer for its Lorton, Virginia site. The role provides senior-level support for network infrastructure, with a focus on LAN/WAN design, configuration and management, and Azure networking. It handles Tier 3 escalations, monitors network health, trains junior staff and maintains comprehensive documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and manage LAN/WAN infrastructure, including Azure networking components, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Resolve complex network issues escalated from lower tiers, resolving them quickly with minimal impact on operations.
• Monitor network performance, identify potential issues early and implement corrective measures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network security policies, procedures and best practices in an Azure environment.
• Run regular performance analysis and capacity planning, recommending network enhancements.
• Train junior network engineers and support staff on network technologies, best practices and troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation of network designs, configurations, processes and procedures.

Required profile

• 7-10+ years of networking engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Network Support Specialist or similar, with strong LAN/WAN and Azure networking knowledge.
• Active TS/SCI clearance or above; DoD 8570 IAT II required.
• Must live within driving distance of Lorton, VA or be willing to relocate (relocation assistance available).
• Must work onsite, including outside core hours and on-call duty, and must be willing to travel frequently.

Required skills

• Network protocols: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, VPN, BGP, OSPF.
• Network security: firewalls (Palo Alto), IDS/IPS, access control systems.
• Monitoring tools: Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios.
• Hardware and software: routers, switches, load balancers, Cisco and Juniper devices, Azure virtual networks, subnets, VPN gateways and Azure ExpressRoute.
• Preferred: CCNP certification.
