Claims Examiner - Bodily Injury (Telecommuter)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for bodily injury claims, working remotely. The role analyzes and processes complex auto and commercial transportation bodily injury claims by reviewing coverage, investigating liability, determining liability and evaluating the scope of damages, while meeting service expectations and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze complex auto bodily injury claims, evaluate coverage, investigate liability and manage damages
• Process complex auto commercial and personal line claims, including bodily injury, and ensure files are properly documented and coded
• Handle the litigation process on litigated claims
• Coordinate vendor management, including the use of independent adjusters
• Report large claims to excess carriers
• Develop action plans to meet state contact deadlines and move files toward resolution
• Pursue subrogation and risk transfer opportunities and handle salvage
• Communicate claim progress with insured, client, agent or broker when appropriate
• Support the organization's quality programs

Required profile

• Five years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including in-depth knowledge of personal and commercial line auto policies, coverage, principles and laws
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred
• State adjusting license maintained as required for the position

• PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products
