Claims Examiner, Auto Bodily Injury

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for auto bodily injury claims, working remotely from Wisconsin. The role analyzes and processes complex bodily injury auto and commercial transportation claims by reviewing coverage, completing investigations, determining liability and evaluating the scope of damages, while ensuring timely resolution within service expectations and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process complex auto commercial and personal line claims, including bodily injury, and ensure claim files are properly documented and coded.
• Handle the litigation process on litigated claims.
• Coordinate vendor management, including the use of independent adjusters to help investigate claims.
• Report large claims to excess carriers.
• Develop and maintain action plans so state-mandated contact deadlines are met and files move toward prompt resolution.
• Pursue subrogation and risk transfer opportunities, secure and dispose of salvage.
• Communicate claim actions with insureds, clients and agents or brokers when appropriate.
• Support the organization's quality programs and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Five years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including in-depth knowledge of personal and commercial line auto policies, coverages, principles and laws.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the state adjusting license required for the position.
