Claims Account Executive

About the role

McGriff Specialty, a division of Marsh Agency, is hiring a Claims Account Executive in Atlanta. You will handle claims in the upper and Jumbo segments with little direct supervision, support key customers and help guide carrier-provided claim adjusting services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and nurture strategic client relationships, providing studies and recommendations based on each client's business needs
• Handle claims in the upper and Jumbo segments with little direct supervision
• Confirm coverage and manage claims to positive outcomes for assigned clients
• Write clear responses to reservation of rights letters and coverage denials
• Give educational presentations to internal and external clients on policies, coverages, management issues and emerging risks
• Aide the Claim Manager by mentoring and developing internal consultants
• Conduct client studies on cost of risk, containment and claim mitigation
• Pursue business development opportunities with new and existing clients and support renewals and new business
• Review service plans and keep up with insurance and risk management trends

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Ten years of experience as a claim adjuster or in broker claim consulting
• Insurance Adjuster's license and multi-line claim experience
• Preferred: underwriting experience, brokerage experience, ARM or AIC designation

Required skills

• In-depth understanding of claim best practices and ability to read complicated policies and contracts
• Use of computer and communications technology for the role
• Superior writing, deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills
