Child Military and Family Life Counselor - Fort Polk

About the role

Leidos is hiring licensed behavioral health professionals to join its Child and Youth Behavioral, Military and Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC) team supporting Fort Polk near Leesville, Louisiana. The role provides non-medical, preventive counseling, consultation and outreach to eligible faculty, staff, parents, children and youth, helping military families adjust to military life.

Key responsibilities

• Work at installation Child Development Centers (CDCs) with children 0-5 and before or after-school care centers for school-aged children, youth and teens
• Engage in activities with children and youth, coach and guide staff and parents, and model behavior management techniques
• Give presentations on social skills development and social-emotional learning
• Promote creativity and positivity through approved materials and build rapport with families by attending installation and community events
• Help children adjust to changes such as a new school or a new home
• Take part in in-service training and other contract activities, and share trends and issues with Team Leads
• Additional duties may include responding to emergent situations and traveling to locations inside and outside the base, including outdoors in all weather

Required profile

• Master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD)
• Valid independent license in the mental health field (e.g., LCSW, MHC, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist)
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to pass a basic background check, a Child National Agency Check and NACI/CNACI clearance (Public Trust)

Pay range: $59,150 - $106,925.
