Chief Trial Attorney

About the role

Zurich North America is seeking a Chief Trial Attorney to lead complex general liability litigation for its insureds. The role operates within a hybrid work model, requiring weekly presence at the Irvine office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all phases of high‑complexity litigation, including trial preparation, pre‑trial discovery, and courtroom representation.
• Collaborate with claims adjusters to develop case strategies, drive timely resolutions, and manage escalations.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior attorneys.
• Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance with legal and confidentiality standards.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor with 10+ years of litigation experience.
• Member in good standing of the California Bar.
• Strong knowledge of insurance defense and claims litigation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using Adobe tools.
• Familiarity with legal research platforms Lexis or Westlaw.
