Chief of Mission Execution, War Data Platform

About the role

The Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) of the Department of War seeks a Chief of Mission Execution for its War Data Platform (WDP). As senior executive program authority, the role translates strategic intent into operational delivery and financial execution, leading the Mission Execution Division and its program managers, CORs, TPOCs and acquisition specialists. It sits at the intersection of technology, finance and defense acquisition, covering platform migrations, audit remediation and enterprise data integrations. The position is covered by the Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo), is paid at the NH-0340-IV (GS-14/15) level ($139,395-$197,200), and closes on 23 October 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Drive WDP's acquisition strategy, multi-year budget formulation and financial execution, and defend funding requests through the POM and PPBE processes
• Monitor budget execution and BA-08 software and digital technology pilot reporting to maintain audit readiness
• Develop milestone-driven and outcome-based CLINs and deliverables, and streamline procurement lifecycles to reduce administrative lead time
• Oversee high-priority technical initiatives, platform migrations, cyber compliance and audit readiness, and build integrated master schedules and performance metrics
• Author and review SOOs, PWSs, SOWs and QASPs, and track vendors on SLAs and CPARS evaluations
• Manage the team, set SOPs, mentor emerging leaders and collaborate across engineering, data operations, cybersecurity and product management
• Represent WDP and CDAO before senior DoW leadership and industry partners, and prepare decision memoranda and executive briefings

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and suitability for federal employment
• Top Secret/SCI security clearance
• Three-year trial period may be required if not previously completed
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and occasional travel by military or commercial aircraft
