Chemotherapy/Infusion RN (PRN)

About the role

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center seeks a PRN Chemotherapy/Infusion Registered Nurse to deliver complex infusion therapies for oncology patients. The RN will work collaboratively with physicians and the care team to ensure safe, evidence‑based treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, review labs, calculate and modify chemotherapy doses, and consult physicians on modifications and symptom management.
• Perform venipuncture, access portacaths, and maintain central line catheters.
• Administer chemotherapy, hydration, blood products and other medications according to protocols.
• Document assessments, patient education, and medication administration in the electronic chart.
• Provide education to patients, families, and staff on oncology treatments and infusion procedures.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred) with a current Montana RN license.
• Minimum three years of RN experience, preferably in oncology.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; CRNI and OCN certification pending or current.
• Successful completion of the Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course every two years.

Required skills

• Venipuncture and central line/portacath access.
• Use and maintenance of ambulatory infusion pumps.
• Management of extravasation events.
• Administration of chemotherapy and other IV therapies.
• Knowledge of OSHA and infection‑control guidelines for handling cytotoxic agents.
