About the role
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, an 1890 Land‑Grant HBCU, is seeking a Chairperson for its Social Work program. As a historic institution with a diverse student body and a 15:1 student‑to‑faculty ratio, UAPB offers a vibrant academic environment. The Chair will lead the Social Work department, fostering curriculum development, research, and community engagement. The university provides a range of undergraduate, certificate, associate, master’s and doctoral programs, and supports student involvement through over 90 organizations, a renowned choir, marching band, debate team, theater, and athletics. With campuses in Pine Bluff and North Little Rock, as well as online offerings and research extensions across Arkansas, the role offers the opportunity to shape social work education within a nationally recognized, research‑active university. The university’s mission is to provide high‑quality, affordable education with a personal touch, preparing students to advance in their fields.
