Certified Surgical Tech (PRN)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Certified Surgical Tech on a PRN basis in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The role works alongside the surgeon and circulating nurse during procedures, anticipating needs and keeping the team informed.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and keep the circulating nurse informed throughout a procedure
• Assemble supplies, equipment and medications before the procedure
• Maintain aseptic technique and report environmental concerns to management
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly and perform hand hygiene
• Support safe, efficient operating room turnover and assist new personnel with orientation and training
• Respond to complaints promptly and take action in emergencies to protect patients, visitors and staff
• Participate in performance improvement activities and support quality standards

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate degree or technical/vocational school preferred
• Currently enrolled in or has completed an accredited surgical technology program
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required; additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state
• Flexible schedule and willingness to adapt to change

Required skills

• Aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation
• English reading, writing and speaking
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office
• Manual keyboarding and visual computer skills

Pay range: $20.89 - $38.84. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
