Certified Nursing Assistant – Hematology/Oncology (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Hematology/Oncology unit. This full‑time, on‑site position provides direct patient care, supporting nurses and physicians in delivering high‑quality treatment to oncology patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, and therapeutic treatments such as ice packs and heat packs.
• Collect specimens, perform urine testing, and provide post‑mortem care when required.
• Respond promptly to call lights, monitor vital signs, and record intake/output.
• Transport patients and equipment safely within the unit.
• Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse and adhere to unit policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and commitment to university values.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
