Certified Nurse Midwife III – Part‑Time

About the role

The Certified Nurse Midwife III provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care across the lifespan in both outpatient and inpatient settings at Fairview Hospital. This part‑time position includes a full scope of practice, from contraceptive management to intrapartum care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide all forms of contraception, including IUDs and sub‑dermal implants.
• Deliver care to women from menarche through menopause, including intrapartum and postpartum management.
• Collaborate with physicians in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
• Perform medical histories, physical exams, order and interpret labs and imaging, and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within APRN scope and state regulations.
• Educate patients on disease processes, treatments, and medication side effects.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and ensure continuity of care.
• Contribute to quality monitoring, research, and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (CNM) with RN licensure in the applicable state.
• MSN required upon hire or within three years for external hires.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, or NRP as required by the work setting.
• Ability to work night call and in‑house shifts.
• Strong analytical, decision‑making, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Contraceptive device insertion (IUD, sub‑dermal implant).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) / Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) utilization.
• Basic and advanced life support certifications.
