Certified Nurse-Midwife III

About the role

The Certified Nurse-Midwife III joins the CNM Advanced Practice Provider team at Fairview Hospital, providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care across the lifespan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full‑scope contraceptive services, including IUDs and sub‑dermal implants.
• Deliver intrapartum care, postpartum rounds, and labor management for women from menarche through menopause.
• Collaborate with physicians in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including night call and in‑house coverage.
• Conduct thorough histories, physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within APRN scope and educate patients on disease management.

Required profile

• Current RN and Certified Nurse‑Midwife APRN licensure in the applicable state(s).
• National certification as a Certified Nurse‑Midwife.
• MSN degree required upon hire or within three years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on setting.
• Strong analytical, communication, and independent decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• IUD and sub‑dermal implant insertion.
• Intrapartum and postpartum care.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• CenteringPregnancy training (preferred).
