Certified Nurse Midwife III

About the role

The Certified Nurse Midwife III joins the CNM Advanced Practice Provider team at Cleveland Clinic Health System, delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full‑scope midwifery services including contraceptive management, intrapartum care, postpartum rounds, and labor management.
• Conduct thorough histories, physical exams, order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostics.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state and institutional guidelines.
• Educate patients on disease processes, treatments, and medication side effects.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams during rounds and care planning.
• Participate in quality monitoring, discharge planning, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a preceptor for students, assist with research data collection, and support professional development of staff.

Required profile

• MSN required upon hire (or within 3 years) from an accredited APRN program.
• Current licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife APRN and RN in the applicable state.
• National certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as appropriate.
• Commitment to collaborative practice and professional growth.

Required skills

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• CenteringPregnancy training (preferred).
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
