Certified Nurse Assistant – Inpatient Hospice – Weekend Nights

About the role

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) will provide hands‑on personal care and support for patients in the Inpatient Hospice Unit during weekend night shifts. The role works closely with registered nurses and therapists to follow individualized care plans and ensure high‑quality, compassionate care for terminally ill patients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care and activities of daily living in strict accordance with the written plan of care.
• Complete routine and complex assignments for assigned hospice patients, including documentation and communication with the care team.
• Observe and document changes in patient functional status and report findings to supervising clinicians.
• Assist with patient mobility, lifting, and transfers while adhering to safety protocols.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED and at least 1 year of experience as a nursing assistant or aide.
• Ability to drive to patient homes and work in varied weather and traffic conditions.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Willingness to support terminally ill patients and their caregivers.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania) upon hire.
• CNA certification (State of Pennsylvania) upon hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
