Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/MA) – Full Time

About the role

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Certified or Non‑Certified Medical Assistant to support our General Surgery Clinic. The role blends front‑office duties with direct patient care, ensuring smooth patient flow and high‑quality support for physicians and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Room patients, record vital signs, and enter accurate information into the EMR system.
• Assist physicians with procedures, ensuring consent is obtained and instruments are sterilized.
• Perform tests, minor procedures, and wound care within scope of practice.
• Manage patient call‑backs, follow‑up calls, and communication with the practice manager.
• Maintain clinic compliance by stocking rooms, handling lab specimens, and completing monthly duties.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current CMA certification preferred; BLS and SAPAA certifications preferred (must obtain within 3‑6 months of hire).
• At least six months of experience in a medical office or related setting preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a high‑traffic clinical environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• SAPAA certification.
• Knowledge of CLIA‑waived testing and minor procedural techniques.
