About the role
Join Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital as a Certified CS/SPD Technician, working evenings to support operating rooms and ensure patient safety through proper instrument processing.
Key responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, assembly, wrapping, labeling, and sterilization of reusable instruments following AAMI ST79 standards.
- Manage case carts, perform case pull functions, and distribute supplies and equipment.
- Maintain records for processing, sterilization, and quality assurance, and participate in in‑service education.
- Assist in training non‑certified technicians and act as a preceptor.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2–5 years of experience in central service/sterile processing.
- Certified in sterile processing (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) and completion of a recognized training program.
- Proficiency with computerized instrument tracking systems.
Required skills
- Sterile processing certification.
- Instrument tracking system operation.
- Knowledge of AAMI ST79 sterilization standards.
