Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant – Sign‑on Bonus & Loan Repayment

About the role

The Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) will provide anesthesia care for a wide range of surgical cases at Mercy Hospital, a Level 2 Trauma Center in Canton, Ohio. The role offers flexible shift options and a collaborative environment with CRNAs and MD anesthesiologists.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive patient history, perform relevant physical exam elements, and discuss the anesthetic plan with the supervising anesthesiologist.
• Administer anesthesia, monitor patient response, manage emergency situations, and provide blood, blood products, and supportive fluids as needed.
• Pre‑test and calibrate anesthesia delivery systems, and ensure proper documentation of patient condition before and after induction.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Current certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants and a valid registration certificate.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Proficiency with anesthesia delivery equipment and monitoring systems.
• Ability to perform critical thinking, decisive judgment, and work with minimal supervision in stressful environments.
