Category Specialist - Indirect Sourcing

About the role

This Category Specialist position reports to the Procurement Manager and plays a strategic role in developing, implementing and optimizing regional and global indirect sourcing strategies. It works closely with business leaders, plant leadership, engineering, finance and global category teams to drive procurement excellence across indirect spend categories and capital investment projects. The role is onsite and contributes to the Electrification Smart Power business in Senatobia, MS.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect spend and capital expenditures in line with business objectives
• Lead competitive sourcing events, supplier negotiations and contract execution, and maintain framework agreements and commercial terms
• Partner with plant leadership, engineering, finance and global procurement teams on strategic initiatives and capital projects
• Conduct market intelligence and benchmarking to find cost optimization opportunities
• Manage the full supplier lifecycle: onboarding, qualification, performance monitoring and stakeholder reporting
• Communicate sourcing plans, project updates, supplier performance and savings to key stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance or a related field
• 5+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain or category management experience, preferably in indirect spend and capital expenditures in a manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting capital projects such as equipment procurement, construction services, facilities management, automation or engineering-related spend
• Work authorization to work for ABB in the United States
• Preferred: knowledge of manufacturing operations and indirect categories such as MRO, facilities, logistics, professional services, IT and capital equipment
