Caregiver (CNA/HCA) – 12‑Hour Day Shifts, Weekends

About the role

Journey Nursing Services is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Home Care Aides (HCA) to provide hands‑on patient care during 12‑hour day shifts on Fridays through Sundays. Work locations include in‑home settings, facilities, or adult family homes in the Carnation, WA area.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalized care to patients, respecting their dignity, rights, and individual needs.
• Assist with activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
• Perform delegated tasks like vital signs, weight checks, and applying prescribed creams or ointments.
• Promote skin integrity by repositioning, turning, and using moisturizers as needed.
• Follow safety and infection‑control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid CNA or HCA license for Washington State (training can be provided on‑site).
• Good standing with the Washington DSHS Background Check System.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Reliable transportation and, if providing client transport, a valid driver’s license and insurance.

Required skills

• Basic patient care techniques and assistance with ADLs.
• Knowledge of safety and infection‑control procedures.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb using proper body mechanics.
