Career Coach & Associate Director – Graduate Career Advancement

About the role

The Associate Director, Graduate Career Advancement leads career services for MBA and other graduate business programs, providing coaching, program development, and partnership building to help students and alumni achieve their professional goals.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to long‑range departmental planning and ensure compliance with university policies.
• Collect and report career outcome data for compliance and rankings.
• Provide one‑on‑one career coaching, including resume, cover letter, interview preparation, and professional skill development.
• Demonstrate career platforms and technology to optimize student employment outcomes.
• Develop relationships with local and national employers across multiple industries to create internship, full‑time, and professional development opportunities.
• Act as liaison with professional organizations (e.g., National Black MBA Association, Prospanica, ROMBA) and cross‑campus partners.
• Plan networking events, support mentoring initiatives, and serve as a point of contact for student organizations and faculty.
• Assist in teaching two sections of Management Career courses each semester.

Required profile

• Experience in career coaching or career services for graduate business students.
• Strong knowledge of MBA program structures and graduate student needs.
• Ability to develop and maintain employer partnerships and community relations.
• Experience supervising staff or student employees is preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
