Cardiac Device Specialist

About the role

The Cardiac Device Specialist provides direct support for patients with cardiac rhythm disturbances and implantable cardiac rhythm management devices. Working closely with cardiologists and electrophysiologists, the specialist ensures optimal device performance and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze data from a wide variety of cardiac devices, identifying arrhythmias, pacing issues, sensing abnormalities, and inappropriate device interventions.
• Reprogram devices under physician direction to achieve optimal pacemaker performance.
• Generate full diagnostic reports from external monitoring and device checks for provider follow‑up.
• Coordinate daily operations of pacemaker and defibrillator clinics, including patient enrollment, equipment requests, alert management, and education.
• Perform device checks in‑office or via telephone, troubleshoot missed transmissions, and prioritize alerts according to policy.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Cardiovascular, Life Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience working with cardiac devices and ability to interpret arrhythmias from intracardiac and surface electrograms.

Required skills

• Device interrogation, pacemaker telephone checks, and remote device transmission handling.
• Troubleshooting of basic, intermediate, and advanced cardiac device issues.
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythm management, dysrhythmias, and cardiovascular physiology.
