Capital Project Manager (Experienced Professional)

About the role

Michelin is hiring an experienced Capital Project Manager for its American Synthetic Rubber Company (ASRC) plant in Louisville, Kentucky, situated on the outskirts of the city along the Ohio River. The role ensures capital projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and leads the initiation and planning of industrial projects while ensuring technical feasibility and resource availability.

Key responsibilities

• Business analysis: validate objectives, deliverables and means with the sponsor; define the strategy and roadmap with the project team; estimate resources and define roles and responsibilities.
• Project management: lead and coordinate the project using a waterfall approach, manage resources and budgets, resolve conflicts, track deliverables and proactively manage risks.
• Manage complex, interrelated projects spanning department boundaries, prioritise resources across initiatives and avoid duplication.
• Set up systems to monitor progress and outcomes, and implement mechanisms to evaluate results.
• Report progress to key stakeholders, define success criteria, run a change management plan and provide the necessary training.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and 5+ years of project management experience; Electrical, Mechanical or other engineering backgrounds preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with external partners, suppliers, customers and colleagues at all levels.
• Strong teamwork, leadership and organisational skills, with effective problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn internal software systems.
• Knowledge of recognised project management methodologies covering scope, resources, time, cost, quality, risk and communications.
