C4I Electronic Engineering Technician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a C4I Electronic Engineering Technician in Groton, Connecticut, working for the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC AIT-M). The position is contingent on identifying a candidate whose expertise meets the organization's strategic needs, at which point a dedicated, funded opening will be created. It is an hourly, overtime-eligible position under the Service Contract Act.

Key responsibilities

• Drawing reviews and System Operability Verification Test (SOVT) support
• Site inspections to assess production status
• Research supporting fact-finding, issue resolution, mitigation of onsite problems and LAR generation
• Create cable test plans and perform onsite cable validation testing
• Perform collateral duties as required by NIWC AIT-M

Required profile

• Active Secret US Government security clearance and ability to obtain a Top Secret; US citizenship is required to maintain a Secret clearance
• Five years of practical experience with a high school diploma/GED, or three years with an Associate's degree in engineering technology, math or science, or formal electronics training (technical school, Class A or B military school, or four-year electronics apprentice program)
• Ability to travel up to 25% and to support a flexible schedule, including possible shift changes
• CANES and/or CSRR experience on US Navy submarines, and familiarity with installing C4I systems on them

Required skills

• Strong electrical and communications background focused on troubleshooting connections, connector inspection and cable testing (copper and fiber)
• Operation of cable and connector test equipment
• Fiber cable testing and repair

Preferred qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Alteration Installation Team Lead or Senior Installation Technician experience in submarine C4I installations and QA
• Current Supervisor/QA Inspector certification for copper and fiber cables and connectors on US Navy ships
