Business Development Specialist - Automotive Refinish

About the role

Surventis Automotive Refinish, part of the BASF Group, sells high-quality refinish paint brands and paint-related products to body shops worldwide, with solutions approved by major automotive manufacturers. It is hiring a Business Development Specialist for its Minneapolis/St. Paul office, working with automotive collision repair shops and distribution partners to grow market share. The role requires about 50% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the business strategy and drive sales growth in local markets by identifying customers and market needs within your assigned area.
• Develop market potential through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, closing sales and recommending new products and services (about 70% of the role focuses on adding new business).
• Manage existing relationships and develop new ones, retaining business and driving sales growth.
• Build trust and value in an ever-changing industry.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred; HS diploma is acceptable with relevant work experience.
• Experience in field sales, territory management and customer relations.
• Preferred: experience in the collision industry.
• Strong interpersonal skills, relationship building and value-based selling.
• Ability to value the current customer base while being aggressive in winning new business.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What we offer

• Pay range of $90,000 - $100,000, depending on education, certifications, experience and other factors permitted by law.
