Business Analyst - Data Science & Insights

About the role

EvolutionIQ builds technology that helps insurance claims teams handle claims more accurately, fairly and efficiently. As a Business Analyst on its Data Science & Insights team, you turn complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive operational change and client outcomes. You work with leaders across Data Science & Insights and Client Strategy to define KPIs and build reporting, and support technical development from SQL queries to Python tools and Looker dashboards.

Key responsibilities

• Review data artifacts so that data transformations are accurate and reporting communicates the right metrics.
• Build tooling to scale and automate client reporting, contributing to GitHub repositories with Python and SQL, and learning tools such as dbt.
• Create visualizations and business cases showing the ROI of AI integration to B2B clients.
• Translate model behaviors (e.g. propensity to close, intervention scoring) into actionable insights for claims adjusters and executives.
• Help define success events for new AI features so technical builds align with the product's behavioral goals.

Required profile

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in disability insurance, FinTech or a SaaS company using machine learning.
• Ability to explain why an AI recommendation was made to non-technical users.
• Familiarity with claims management workflows, duration compression and disability insurance regulation is preferred.

Required skills

• Python (Pandas, script development) and SQL
• Data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI and Looker
