Bridge Engineer

About the role

Michael Baker International is seeking a highly motivated Bridge Engineer to plan, design, and analyze civil engineering projects such as bridges, retaining walls, tunnels, dams, and drainage structures. The role operates under limited supervision within a collaborative team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide analysis and design for new highway, rail, and pedestrian bridge structures.
• Prepare construction drawings, project special provisions, and structure selection reports.
• Design related structures including retaining walls, underground vaults, and culverts.
• Perform load rating using software packages such as CSI Bridge, SAP2000, MIDAS, LEAP, MDX, LPile, and AAHSTOWare.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians and support business development with preliminary designs.
• Visit work sites as needed and maintain task budgets and schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master's may substitute 1‑2 years of experience).
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado.
• Knowledge of CDOT Bridge Design manuals and AASHTO LRFD design code.
