About the role

The Institute of Information Science, Technologies and Architecture (Istar‑Iscte) at ISCTE‑CI is offering a four‑month research scholarship (AIH‑BI1) for bachelor‑level students to contribute to the AIH project, which aims to develop a secure standard for health data storage and AI applications.

Key responsibilities

• Familiarise with the AIH project context, objectives and data.
• Conduct a state‑of‑the‑art review on health data standards and AI.
• Define regulatory, technical and functional requirements for the proposed standard.
• Begin drafting the technical specification of the standard.
• Prepare and submit a scientific article in English to a conference or indexed journal.
• Assist in writing a report summarising the state of the art, requirements and technical proposal.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a higher‑education institution pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Interest in computer science, artificial intelligence and health data management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a research team.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts.
• Understanding of health data handling and standards.
