Benefits Analyst – Employee Health & Benefits

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring a Benefits Analyst for its Employee Health & Benefits team in Troy. The analyst obtains and analyzes group benefit program proposals for clients and prospects, analyzing bids for group health and welfare coverage, providing benchmarking research and analysis, and developing detailed client reports. On average, the analyst provides substantial financial analysis for 8-12 clients and works mostly (about 90%) in Excel.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze bids for group health and welfare coverage for clients and prospects
• Provide benchmarking research and analysis
• Develop detailed client reports
• Work on moderate to high complexity cases with a high level of accuracy

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, mathematics or a related field preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in the healthcare benefits industry, preferably with a group, insurance carrier, broker or general agency
• Knowledge of group insurance (medical, dental, vision and life and disability products) preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to work under tight deadlines while juggling many projects
