Senior Bookkeeper - U.S. CPA Firm Support

About the role

An independent, detail-driven Senior Bookkeeper is sought to oversee month-end closes, review work and handle full-cycle accounting for small-business clients of a U.S.-based CPA firm. The position is office-based, within U.S. business hours, and suits someone with 4 to 7 years of experience.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual accounting cycles for assigned U.S. client accounts
• Perform and review bank, credit card, payroll, intercompany, loan and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare close packages, management reports, accruals, prepaids, fixed asset schedules and equity tracking for CPA review
• Lead catch-up bookkeeping, historical error resolution, chart-of-accounts restructuring and data cleanup
• Review work done by junior bookkeepers, give feedback and document SOPs
• Prepare open-item lists and communicate with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve inquiries

Required profile

• 4 to 7 years of hands-on bookkeeping, general ledger or multi-client accounting experience
• Strong written and spoken English, with the judgment to manage deadlines, resolve discrepancies and escalate risks early
• Preferred: prior experience in a U.S. CPA firm, outsourced accounting provider or CAS team; ACCA/CA qualification, partial qualification or accounting/finance degree

• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (lookups, conditional logic, pivot tables)
