About the role

The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, a 130-room boutique hotel in El Paso, TX, is hiring a bartender. The role serves beverages and food in a friendly, courteous and timely way, aiming for high guest satisfaction. The growth path leads to Beverage Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant Manager and Food & Beverage Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Serve beverages and/or food, and prepare and serve drink and food orders
• Maintain clean and organized bar areas, and slice and pit fruit for drink garnishes
• Check customer identification to verify age requirements for alcohol
• Take orders and serve and clear food and beverage for guests in bar and lounge areas, issue guest checks and complete payments
• Follow standards for identifying and managing intoxicated guests
• Complete beverage requisitions to maintain par levels and assist with beverage inventory
• Follow sustainability guidelines of the HHM EarthView program, and practice safe work habits and OSHA standards
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and perform other duties requested by management

Required profile

• Previous bartending or mixologist experience required, or equivalent training
• High school diploma preferred
• TIPS certification a plus; Food Sanitation certificate a plus, required within 90 days of employment

Work conditions

• Schedule varies and may include holidays, weekends and different shifts
• Requires standing for long periods, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds and bending and reaching
