Cafeteria Attendant

About the role

At Delano Miami Beach, a luxury hotel, the Staff Café Attendant works under the general guidance of the Sous Chef to support the Heart of House by keeping the team dining area welcoming, clean and well-stocked. The role also calls for occasional lateral service to team members, in line with hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the team member cafeteria, paying attention to cleanliness, presentation and organisation
• Keep food stations fully stocked, replenished and presented in a timely way
• Keep dining areas, tables, chairs, service stations and equipment clean
• Help receive, organise and store food and supplies
• Follow food safety, sanitation and hygiene standards, and comply with health and safety regulations
• Support basic food preparation and service as needed
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs
• Provide a warm, friendly and professional experience for all team members
• Communicate clearly with team members and give clear direction to venue teams; stay calm and make sound decisions in emergencies

Required profile

• Previous experience in food service, cafeteria or hospitality preferred
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift and to twist, push or pull, reach, bend, climb and carry objects as necessary
• Able to work inside and outside at all times of the year, depending on business volume
• Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, speak and understand English
