Chef de Partie - Mimi Kakushi

About the role

The Delano Miami Beach, Mimi Kakushi concept is looking for a Chef de Partie. Working under the general guidance of the Chef de Cuisine, the role coordinates, supervises and directs all aspects of the Culinary department's food production, keeping Food and Beverage operations profitable and product and service quality high. The hotel has 171 rooms, preserves its iconic walk-in pool and adds a new pool on an amenity deck.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a specific kitchen section efficiently, preparing and cooking dishes to recipe and standard with consistent presentation.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies and manage food costs within budget.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized and adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, take part in staff evaluations and give constructive feedback.
• Communicate with other kitchen staff so orders are delivered on time and accurately.
• Handle guest feedback on food quality or service and address issues promptly.
• Maintain kitchen equipment, enforce health and safety regulations and run regular inspections.
• Perform related tasks on a routine basis to support exceptional guest service.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; at least 21 years old.
• At least three years of experience in the Culinary Department, including current hospitality kitchen experience.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven track record of company values.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced, customer-service-driven environment.
• Ability to stand or walk for an eight-hour shift and to handle stressful situations.
• Reads, writes, speaks and understands English; neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.

Required skills

• Intermediate to proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (preferred).
• Entering and locating work-related information in computer and point-of-sale systems.
