AVP, Underwriting Director – Large Casualty

About the role

Zurich is seeking an experienced Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriting Director – Large Casualty to join its National Account, Large Casualty team in the West Region. The role supports profitable growth and renewal retention for large‑scale commercial insurance risks in the Southern California territory, working from Los Angeles or Irvine.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business for large casualty accounts.
• Maintain broker relationships across Southern California and manage complex assignments within broad authority limits.
• Administer underwriting rules, guidelines, insurance laws, and rating manual requirements.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 7+ years of underwriting or market‑facing experience (or equivalent combinations with Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice credentials).
• Demonstrated ability to work under time constraints for quotes and collaborate in a team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
