Automotive Operations Specialist (Field Performance)

About the role

MSX International supports vehicle manufacturers, retailers and mobility organisations worldwide, helping them optimise sales performance, repair compliance, parts sales and consumer engagement. It is hiring an Operations Specialist (Field Performance) in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who works directly with dealership teams to improve service operations, customer experience and overall performance. The role is field based, with travel of up to 80%, and is paid with salary, bonus and a monthly vehicle allowance.

Key responsibilities

• Assess dealership service operations and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
• Coach and support dealership staff on customer service, sales techniques and operational best practices.
• Partner with dealership leadership to develop and implement improvement plans.
• Monitor progress and give ongoing guidance so dealerships meet performance goals.
• Document observations, actions taken and recommendations after each visit.
• Track and analyse key performance metrics to measure success and find areas for improvement.
• Build strong relationships with dealership personnel and influence positive change.

Required profile

• Experience in automotive dealership operations, fixed operations or aftersales/service environments.
• Strong coaching, mentoring and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyse performance data and build actionable improvement plans.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability to travel regularly to dealership locations.

Required skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
• Preferred: knowledge of fixed operations, service departments and business performance metrics.
• Preferred: experience training and coaching service advisors, technicians and dealership staff.
