Automotive General Service Technician (Tire & Lube Tech)

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring a General Service Technician (Tire & Lube Tech) in Cincinnati. The role is full time or part time and is an hourly position based on business needs. The technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance according to company standards and manufacturer specifications, delivering 5-star guest service through clear communication of vehicle issues and solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle services and repairs accurately and efficiently, including tire services such as wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, mounting, installation and TPMS service, and vehicle services such as lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance, battery testing and installation
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle and document additional needed services
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts and stocking shelves
• Help keep the store clean and guest-ready, and follow safety standards such as wheel torque and oil safety procedures
• Test drive vehicles under the Road Test policy and follow company policies, environmental codes and OSHA standards
• Complete Monro University training and maintain equipment safely

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Automotive training or equivalent education and experience
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report, with the ability to test drive customers' vehicles
• Owns a basic set of tools or joins Monro's tool purchase program
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for long periods
