Athletic Department Intern

About the role

Adams State University, a state-supported undergraduate institution in the San Luis Valley of Colorado, sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports teams and is an NCAA Division II member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Athletic Department Intern assists in the day-to-day operations of the department, working alongside the Business Manager and supporting marketing, ticket sales, compliance, event operations and the Grizzly Club.

Key responsibilities

• Help coordinate and implement marketing and ticket sales plans, sponsorship implementation, social media, fan engagement and branding outreach
• Assist with ticketing processes and the game-day experience
• Support the Compliance department and take part in planning, setup, execution and post-event operations
• Assist with Grizzly Club functions, travel arrangements and other fiscal functions
• Hold office hours, share sport-specific project updates and potential promotional events, and lead marketing for the department
• Attend home events, including weekends, and carry out other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required
• Ability to work with a variety of personalities and excellent communication skills
• Commitment to NCAA, RMAC, university and department rules and to student academic success
• High ethical standards, initiative and integrity; respectful, honest and collegial with employees, students and the community
• Understanding of Adams State University's vision and mission

The position is a 10-month at-will appointment paid $5,000.
