Associate Scientist – Biologics Process Research & Development

About the role

Join the Biologics Process Research & Development (BPR&D) team to design, develop and execute robust upstream and downstream processes for early‑ to late‑stage biologic products. You will work in a collaborative environment, applying rigorous scientific principles to deliver life‑changing medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative, disruptive technologies for next‑generation biologic manufacturing.
• Design and conduct experiments for unit operations, integrate them with process control platforms, and scale‑up studies.
• Collaborate across BPR&D, analytics, R&D and manufacturing to advance the biologics pipeline.
• Contribute to a safe, compliant laboratory environment and support technology transfer.

Required profile

• BS degree (or expected by June 2027) in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Structural Biology or related field.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles for recombinant protein production.
• Passion for integrating science and innovation into biologics process development.

Required skills

• Bioprocess development (upstream/downstream)
• Aseptic technique and protein biophysical knowledge
• Experimental design, data analysis, DOE and multivariate analysis
• Mammalian cell culture, protein expression and purification
• Centrifugation, chromatographic techniques, membrane filtration
• Process scale‑up and technology transfer
