About the role

Tarleton State University seeks an experienced senior academic leader to serve as Associate Provost, Associate Vice President for Strategic Academic Initiatives, and Dean of Faculty within the Division of Academic Affairs. The position will guide university‑wide academic initiatives, faculty affairs, and program planning, supporting the institution’s mission of teaching, research, and service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for large‑scale academic initiatives across all campuses and online programs.
• Collaborate with deans and department chairs to develop, implement, and assess strategic academic program plans.
• Oversee faculty affairs, including recruitment, development, evaluation, and promotion processes.
• Lead academic program planning, curriculum review, and accreditation activities.
• Represent the Division of Academic Affairs in university governance and external partnerships.
• Foster an inclusive, innovative culture that advances teaching excellence and research impact.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in higher education administration.
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, faculty development, and academic program management.
• Strong understanding of accreditation, curriculum design, and university governance.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills with internal and external stakeholders.
