Associate Principal Scientist – Separations Science

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Principal Scientist to join our Separations Sciences team within the Analytical Enabling Capabilities Organization in West Point, Pennsylvania. The position focuses on developing analytical methods to support vaccine pipelines and other biologics, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to accelerate the development of new medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and qualify analytical separation methods for large‑molecule vaccines and biologics.
• Partner with analytical and process project teams to implement innovative separation, analysis, and characterization strategies.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field with hands‑on experience in bio‑analytical separations.
• Proven ability to deliver complex objectives under aggressive timelines and to publish scientific findings.
• Strong teamwork and cross‑functional collaboration experience in academic or industrial settings.

Required skills

• Liquid chromatography techniques (SEC, RPLC, IEX, HIC, Affinity).
• Field flow fractionation (FFF) and capillary electrophoresis.
• Detection platforms: light scattering, UV, fluorescence, mass spectrometry, CAD.
• Multidimensional separation (2DLC) and in‑silico method development tools.
• Vaccines CMC knowledge and analytical method development for biologics.
