Associate Director, Neuromuscular, US Patient Advocacy

About the role

The Associate Director, Neuromuscular, US Patient Advocacy works with patient communities affected by neuromuscular diseases such as DMD, DM-1 and FSHD to understand unmet needs, mobilize patients and caregivers and reduce access barriers. The ideal location is East Hanover, though remote work may be possible; relocation is not provided.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with patient organizations and communities, centered on two-way collaboration
• Identify patient organizations to educate and mobilize patients and to give their voice to decision-makers, including HCPs, policymakers and payers
• Run integrated patient advocacy strategies aligned to business and corporate priorities, based on the patient and care partner experience
• Turn patient insights into action across corporate affairs and with cross-functional partners, and act on policy and environmental issues proactively
• Develop AI-enabled educational programs and resources addressing unmet patient and caregiver needs
• Monitor and evaluate performance while staying compliant, manage budgets and maximize agency ROI

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years in patient advocacy or a related field with a healthcare or pharmaceutical background; neuromuscular and rare disease experience preferred
• 1-2 years in an industry patient advocacy role
• Experience building trust with patient organizations and professional associations, commercial launch experience, and managing agency partners and budgets

• Desirable: knowledge of the US policy, regulatory and compliance landscape

What we offer

• Expected salary of $126,000 to $234,000 per year, with a performance-based cash incentive and possible annual equity awards
