Associate Clinical Director

About the role

The Associate Clinical Director supports daily operations and oversight of clinical services at Ava Health, supervising staff, coordinating programming, and maintaining high documentation standards. This role also collaborates closely with residential and recovery residence teams to ensure integrated client care.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and support clinical staff, managing schedules and coverage for groups and programs.
• Monitor and ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of clinical documentation, including treatment plans and progress notes.
• Facilitate clinical meetings, promote effective treatment‑team communication, and conduct chart reviews with feedback.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care with nursing, admissions, case management, psychiatric providers, and residential leadership.
• Provide oversight for Residential and Recovery Residence services, handling programming, safety, and crisis response.
• Maintain a small clinical caseload when needed and cover clinical groups as required.
• Support onboarding, training, and professional development of clinical and residential staff.
• Assist with policy implementation, workflow improvements, and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field.
• Current independent behavioral health licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
• Experience delivering individual and group behavioral health treatment.
• Strong clinical documentation and treatment‑planning abilities.
• Experience in clinical supervision, consultation, or staff development.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and interdisciplinary communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to behavioral emergencies and complex client situations.
