Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – Computer Sciences

About the role

The Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University seeks tenure‑track faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to join its interdisciplinary community. Appointments begin in the 2027‑28 or 2028‑29 academic year and may include joint appointments with other Northeastern colleges.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in AI, computer science, cybersecurity, data science, and related areas.
• Mentor students and postdoctoral researchers, develop an independent research program, and secure external funding.
• Contribute service to the college, university, and professional community.

Required profile

• Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field by the start date.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly excellence and a commitment to inclusive, experiential education.
• For Associate level: at least five years of relevant experience; for Full Professor: at least eight years and an established history of grant support.

Required skills

• Research expertise in AI sub‑areas such as Physical AI, Human‑Centered AI, AI and Software Engineering, or AI Safety, Security and Alignment.
• Ability to develop and lead externally funded research programs of international caliber.
