About the role
The College of Liberal Arts at Towson University seeks a 9‑month Assistant Teaching Professor in French, beginning August 2026. This full‑time faculty position focuses on delivering first‑year French instruction to undergraduate students.
Key responsibilities
- Teach four first‑year French courses each semester (eight courses per academic year).
- Maintain a minimal service load, primarily related to departmental teaching duties.
- Contribute to curriculum development and assessment as needed.
Required profile
- PhD in French or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered).
- Near‑native proficiency in French.
- Ability to work on campus; the university cannot sponsor visas for this role.
Required skills
- Advanced French language proficiency.
